beauty: the stuff that saves my mornings and my job
I don't wash my hair every day. Really, I try and go two to three days without washing it. Three days is max for me. I have super fine hair. It's thick, but boy, is it fine. Like...so fine, hair spray only works for about 20 minutes before falling down. Unless I want it crunchy. Which, you know, works if I was a leaf during fall or something.
I don't wash my hair everyday for two reasons. Reason number one, it makes my hair feel so much better and it falls out less. Reason number two, I hate getting up really, really early. Unfortunately, I have to get up really early, because my job is an hour away. Not having to wash my hair leaves me more time to sleep.
A product that's really helped me prolong the time between washing is a dry shampoo called Play it BIG by Salon Grafix. I bought this stuff at Walmart.
If you have dark hair like mine, and you've used dry shampoo before, you know that a lot of dry shampoos make you look like you dumped a whole bunch of baby powder on your head, even when you brush it out like the directions say to do. I like this stuff, because it is the same color as my hair, so I don't get that gross white residue.
The directions on this stuff say to hold it 10-12 inches away from your hair, then spray. PLEASE DO THIS! I made the mistake of not holding it that far from my hair, and it made my hair feel horrible. But, when you do follow the directions, this stuff is amazing!

I love dry shampoo too! I have never tried the brand you are recommending, but I will look for it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion!
Same! I don't like washing my hair every day, especially now that it's short because it gets all weirdly wavy if I don't straighten or try to curl it. I've used dry shampoo in the past, and seriously like you said it looks like you put baby powder in your hair. I'm definitely jotting down this brand to try out!
